The Christmas season can be a challenging time for single moms. Each year Mercy CCPC holds an annual Client Christmas Event in which clients participate in a life skills class, select and wrap one gift for each of their children, and are thereby able to present the gift to their child/children on Christmas morning.
The goal of this event is at least two fold:
- continue to build the parent child relationship
- provide life skills instruction that can be utilized beyond the walls of our center (providing a hand up not a hand out). Classes include Bible Study, BWIC, Nurse Family Partnership, Literacy Council, Career Link, and Chalk Talk/James & Tracy Snyder.
With your help, we have the opportunity to be the hands of Christ extended – presenting the Gospel in word and deed.
This year we anticipate that 350 children will receive gifts on Christmas morning as a direct result of Mercy’s unique program.
You are invited to join with us in ministry during this special time of year.
With this in mind, we request that you consider donating:
- Unwrapped new toys – ages birth to 8 years
- Tissue paper to use with gift bags
All donations needed by November 4, 2019
